Living in the stone age

I never considered myself a tv or internet nut but I am REALLY starting to miss them both. Its been a month since we have had cable or even a tv/dvd player or internet hooked up at home. Most of the time it doesnt bother me because there has been plenty to do. But now, we are stuck waiting for our tax return before we jump and buy furniture and the only things left to do arent preggo friendly. Mr. Jerseyjess has been working nights, and will be all week, so that leaves one bored and lonely Jerseyjess.

We did have a break through Sunday with having our dryer hooked up! The wonderful previous homeowners decided not to tell us (when we asked they leave the appliances) that their gas dryer didnt work! If I knew where they lived now, Id totally dump that POS in on their front lawn. Luckily, we still had our dryer from the rental but it was electric! So we lived without a dryer for about 3 weeks, running the "definitely need these" clothes to and from my parents (who are a 1/2 hour away) to wash until we could get someone over to run electric so we could hook up our dryer. Sunday was the magical day! I dont think Ive ever been more excited to wash clothes! But of course since we are living upstairs at the moment, I have to drag the laundry baskets down 2 flights of stairs to the basement...and back up. Fun fun! It doesnt bother me much though since Im just happy to have clean clothes!

Id like to think I will never take having a tv, the internet, a computer, a washer and dryer, a dresser or any furniture for that matter for granted again. Its been an interesting few months between being seperated between two houses, moving all our belongings into the garage, living on a matress on the ground (because our queen box spring doesnt fit up our tiny stairs on the 2nd floor) and having to work around all the renovations. I couldnt be happier though because its Our Home and we are all together. We just keep looking forward and think how great it will be when the basics are done, and our baby is here.

We are just slowing stepping out of the stone age and back into a normal life!
